David Strout is a graduate of Brown University, where his degree in Environmental Engineering allowed him to explore the intersection of innovation and sustainability. While in college, he spent much of his time working and teaching other students in Brown’s maker space, building on his lifelong love of creating and inventing. David worked as a design/process engineer for water filtration systems before returning to the world of making at the Georgetown Maker Hub, where he is thrilled to be the Manager. David also participates as an Adjunct Professor with the Culture, Communications, and Technology program. Outside of work, David can often be found playing a round (or four) of disc golf, beekeeping, or cooking new recipes. David is honored to be joining the SIPS board to expand his work with the Georgetown community and to advance the mission of SIPS.
