Center for Civic Innovation

In the summer of 2019, Chelsea Luo (SFS ’21) worked with the Center for Civic Innovation based out of Atlanta, Georgia.  The organization works towards fighting income inequality by empowering Atlantans to enact systemic change through community-driven solutions.  

As a GU Impact Fellow through the Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation, Chelsea explored how grass-roots initiatives interacted with top-down policies as well as garnered an in-depth understanding of the causes of segregation.  In her pursuit of a career in international development and global uplift, this experience helped her learn concrete methods of knowledge sharing that she could potentially adapt to other communities in the world.
