Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education

In the summer of 2019, Natalia Lopez (COL ’22) worked at the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education in Washington D.C. She assisted the Office in designing projects and researching to ensure the D.C. public education system is better served moving forward.

This internship allowed Natalia to explore her interest in working within the education sector and solidified her passion for helping create an equitable learning environment for all students, regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status. In the long term, Natalia hopes to support the D.C. education system to help guarantee that each and every student receives the resources they need to succeed.
