Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom

In the summer of 2019, Julia Danalevich (SFS ‘21) worked for the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) out of North Africa. Specifically, she assisted the president of the organization, Kozue Akibayashi, with advocacy work regarding women’s education rights.

While at WILPF, Julia visited families within the region, met with independent North African organizations, and taught classes on civil rights. The hands-on work supporting women towards their liberation was a transformative experience for her that will inform her future career working in peace education.
